In brief, Mental Wellness is the mental condition in which someone acts in a way that contributes to their own happiness and wellbeing. The overall well-being can be affected by physical health, social relationships, and environment. Mental wellness helps to create emotionally stable and sound life. Did you know that 50% of all visits to primary care physicians are because of mental health problems? And depression is the leading cause of disability among individuals 15-44 years old. This article will give you an idea of the importance of mental wellness to your healthcare.
Mental wellness is a crucial part of human survival. Without the proper mental health, the body physically slows its processes. This can be seen in depression, PTSD, and other instances where the mind is not functioning at 100%. It has been found that people with an unhealthy mind are 80% more likely to die by suicide. The reason this happens isn't fully understood but is believed to be related to inflammation in the body when someone is under stress.
